Lightning Round .....

It’s Thursday, which means we’re ready for another game of LIGHTNING ROUND ….. where I throw ya a half-dozen questions requiring simple, yet, opinionated responses. Of course, I’m providing my responses ….. but I really want to know what you think. Without further delay, here’s the batch for this week …..

Question #1 - Which team will finish higher in the standings …. the Orioles or Rays?

Answer #1 - The Rays ….. they’re simply a better team. In fact, they’re good.

Question #2 – If there’s one person you could drink a beer with ….. it would be …..

Answer #2 – Howard Stern …. I think it’s all an act, and he’s a very normal guy.

Question #3 - Who’s the #1 ranked player in fantasy football, in 2008?

Answer #3 – Adrian Peterson

Question #4 – Van Halen performs at 1st Mariner Arena tonight. Who’s the better frontman, Roth or Hagar?

Answer #4 – Neither Dave or Sammy would be mistaken for Michael Buble’. However, Roth embodied the role of lead singer ….. he’s got IT.

Question #5 – Will Ray Lewis do the “Dance” this season?

Answer #5 – It’s Harbaugh-Law …. NO WAY !!!!

Question #6 – Of all the movies based on baseball, what actor gave the poorest performance as a baseball player?

Answer #5 – Tom Selleck in “Mr. Baseball” ….. he was awful.

1. Tampa Bay 2. John Angelos (seriously) 3. LaDanian Tomlinson should be... 4. David Lee Roth couldn't sing but he could entertain...I guess it's him by default. 5. Yes. 6. Great question but I have no idea...

Re: Lightning Round ..... By Johnny Rocket on 5/15/2008 8:50 AM

1) The Rays....the Birds will soon come back to earth, remember what happened about 2 or 3 years ago? 2) Mick Jagger...I would love to ask him a few questions. 3) Peyton Manning. 4) "Diamond Dave"...no question about it. Dave knows how to get the audience "up". 5) Sure Ray Ray will "perform" the pre-game "chicken-dance". Stevie B. still owns the team and I am sure that he has already given that guy his permission to "Dance The Night Away". That is the most obnoxious thing in football and if I were a Ravens fan I would be embarrassed by that "dance". 6) I don't know the poorest performance, but the best has to be Bob Uecker in the "booth" in Major League. That is classic stuff!

Re: Lightning Round ..... By Sunday Mornings Sound Better Than Saturday Morning on 5/15/2008 8:51 AM

Answer 1- Tampa, although I am not as cedrtain about that as I was a month ago.
Answer 4- David Lee Roth, because Sammy Hagar is a schmuck
Answer 5- NO dance, because it should have never started in the first place, something Harbaugh will understand
Answer 6-Far too many to pick one, but I find it hard to believe that Selleck, who actually could play well enough to play minor league baseball, would be the worse.

Re: Lightning Round ..... By KZ on 5/15/2008 3:40 PM

1. Tampa but I love how the O's play the game...hope they keep it up

2. Bill Clinton...how cool would that be...the stories I bet he has

3. You say AP...hard to argue...but it takes guts to draft him number 1 after a 1/2 of a good season and he still has Taylor there to steal 5 to 10 carries a week...so until further notice its still LT.

4. Dave...next

5. Ray will dance!!!

6. hmmm....everyone in Major League 2

Re: Lightning Round ..... By justin in highlandtown on 5/15/2008 3:41 PM

1- Tampa Bay, they could probably win half the divisions in baseball as long as Kazmir and Shields stay healthy.
2- Jim Palmer, to get an accurate opinion on the state of the O's.
3- Peyton Manning
4- Gary Cherone (had to be done)
5- Yes, it fires the crowd up big-time. When he doesn't do it the crowd isn't into the game until the 2nd quarter.
6- Geena Davis

Re: Lightning Round ..... By Mark Mussina on 5/15/2008 12:07 PM

1. Rays

2. Jennifer Aniston. (You can pick anyone in the world and you're picking a dude? Seriously?)

3. LT

4. I've never understood why Sammy takes such a bad wrap. While the legendary stuff from Van Halen was done with Dave, the albums with Sammy were pretty good. 5150 is fantastic, and while it's no Van Halen 1, maybe they should have just thrown on some covers like YOU REALLY GOT ME and ICE CREAM MAN. To answer the question, I would rather see them with Dave simply because I saw them with Sammy and I've never seen them with Dave, but I would say that the odds of one guy coming out and totally sucking (as singers do sometimes) would be Dave, hands down.

5. Absolutely.

6. Tim Robbins in Bull Durham was the worst. Watch Charlie Sheen pitch in MAJOR LEAGUE and then watch Robbins. I'll bet "Nuke" couldn't throw it 50 mph in real life.

Re: Lightning Round ..... By richard on 5/15/2008 3:42 PM

Sammy or Dave... neither are Michael Buble'... now THAT'S funny!

Re: Lightning Round ..... By such on 5/15/2008 3:43 PM

1. Rays - They're actually legit. 2. Jim Irsay - Just so I could grill him about all the wrongs his family has done to Baltimore over the past 24 years. 3. LT - Still the one. 4. Who cares about your overrated band? Especially when they can't keep their s**t together enough to appear when they actually are supposed to appear! 5. No more dancing please Coach Har-Ball. 6. Ray Liotta in "Field of Dreams" as Shoeless Joe Jackson. Uh, Shoeless Joe was actually left-handed. Somebody should have notified the director.
Re: Lightning Round ..... By JP on 5/15/2008 3:44 PM

1) Rays, unfortunately
2) Kurt Russell
3) I think LT is the safe pick; not sold on one year from AD
4) Roth, all the way....Hagar can't drive 55 because he can't afford an oil change for his car
5) probably....if not, it's because he decided not to on his own
6) Corbin Bernsen....If I had seen "the Natural" I'd probably say Robert Redford out of spite
