Help is needed...I still need 8 foursomes.

We are now less than two weeks away from our fifth annual WNST Charity Golf Outing (thanks to Miller Lite for jumping on board this year as our title sponsor) and we're in a little bit of a bind.

I'm hoping you can help.

I'm in need of 8 more foursomes.

This year's event is on May 22nd (1:30 pm) at Mountain Branch GC in Joppa (all of the tournament info is on the link to the left of this blog) and we are raising money for a wonderful Baltimore foundation...Casey Cares.

Like some of you, I play in a lot of charity golf events each summer and I have seen literally millions of dollars raised for various worthwhile charities all over the country.

Our event strives to be somewhat unique and different in that we provide our proceeds to a charity in the Baltimore area.  Over the years, we've raised funds for ALS Research at The Packard Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital, the Hospice Program for the ALS Association of Maryland and, last year, Maryvale Prep, in honor of Erinn McCarthy.

All of our proceeds in '08 will help fund worthwhile endeavors from Casey Cares.  They are an organization that assists critically ill children and their families during not only their period of illness or trauma, but also afterwards, during the recovery phase, when times are sometimes just as tough.

Feeling so extremely fortunate to have my own little 9-month old "bundle of joy", 2008 takes on an even bigger meaning for me, personally, as I show my appreciation for Ethan's good health by doing my best to help Casey Cares raise funds for their programs.

Last month, WNST listeners got our fund raiser off to a great start with a $1,700 donation as part of "Care for Casey", a Masters-related concept that generated pledges based on how many birdies PGA Tour player Paul Casey made during at Augusta National.

For more information about Casey Cares and to see the great work they are doing, here's their website:  www.caseycaresfoundation.org

I need 8 more foursomes.

I'm more than willing to take singles, twosomes and threesomes if you can't build a team of four.

E-mail me directly at: drew@wnst.net if you are 1, 2 or 3 players and would like to play in our event.  Note:  I might not have a lot of internet access over the weekend so be patient and expect an e-mail Sunday or Monday if you reach out to me this weekend.

Entry fee for the event is $150 per-player or $600 per-foursome. You'll get far more than your money's worth from our event - free golf balls, great prizes, a free ticket to the Champions Tour PGA event at Baltimore Country Club in October and an outstanding day of food and drink at Mountain Branch.

And, best of all, you'll be helping a great Baltimore based foundation as they improve the quality of life for children and their families who are less fortunate.

My thanks to all of you who have already registered for the tournament.  I look forward to seeing you on May 22nd at Mountain Branch.

We need 8 more foursomes.  I promise, you'll have a memorable afternoon of fun and friendship.
