Lightning Round .....

It's Thursday .... so that means it's time to play "Lightning Round" - when I throw a few simple questions your way. A little bit of sports and a little bit of everything else.

Remember, I provide my own answers, as well. Critcize me, scold me, agree with me (Johnny Rocket). It's all in your hands.

Here ya go .....

Question #1 - As we sit here today, name the best team in the NFL ....

Answer #1 - Don't buy into the abberation that was last year's Super Bowl. It was one game and the best team didn't win. The best overall team in the NFL is still the New England Patriots.

Question #2 - Tom Hanks' best performance was in what movie?

Answer #2 - He's probably the very best of our generation. That said, I think his most compelling performance was in "Philadelphia."

Question #3 - Are the Yankees DONE as far as 2008 goes?

Answer #3 - I said it two weeks ago. The answer is YES. Losing A'Rod merely seals the deal.

Question #4 - The greatest guitarist ever ....

Answer #4 - Eddie Van Halen ..... period.

Question #5 - Which 2008 draft pick will make the greatest contribution to the Ravens this season?

Answer #5 - Tavares Gooden .... just gotta feeling.

O.K. Rex, now you've gone and made me mad with #4....sheesh, bro, there are at least 3 better choices there. Anyhoo...#1. Patriots. Agreed. #2. "Bachelor Party" - Underrated classic early '80's comedy. #3. Yankees are cooked. Unhealthy balance of aging vets and not-quite-ready younger players. #4. Ever heard ANYTHING by a guy named Jimmy Page? C'mon now Rex...you should know better. #5. Ray Rice. 1A to McGahee's 1.

Sorry Such ..... but even the experts think EVH is the BEST. Just ask Clapton, Beck or the great Les Paul. Jimmy Page, while a true "axeman" in his own right, doesn't have fingers nearly as quick as Eddie !!!!

Re: Lightning Round .....    By Jonny Rocket on 5/1/2008 7:54 PM

#1) The Washington Redskins, #2) Forest Gump, #3) I hate to say it, but the Yankees will buy themselves back into the playoffs in July, #4) The Edge - U2, all of Eddie's stuff sounds the same, The Edge has mixed it up a bit over the years...followed by Don Ho with the ukellee, #5) it really doesn't matter this year...the Ravens are going to suck, I mean really suck!

Re: Lightning Round .....    By B from funky Pasadena on 5/1/2008 7:54 PM

Re: Lightning Round .....    By df1570 on 5/3/2008 10:55 AM
