No. Since we don't play a cover 2, our CBs really matter so we need one of the top four CBs. We saw how bad this D is without corners. I'd trade back to around 12 to make sure we get McKeldin, Talib or DRC and use the extra pick to move to get Brohm. However if Ellis is around at 8 I don't see not picking him.

Ken...this an interesting mock draft. Are the Ravens really that high on Clady? If so, and they do take him in the first round, I think that they need to spend higher picks bolstering the secondary. I think, with McNair's retirement, drafting Matt Ryan has become a top priority. I actually blogged about this recently, so check out the WNST VIP bloggers section on this website and read my blog (shameless plug)...

Alex I think the Ravens are really high on Clady and now with McNair gone...need to protect the QB more then ever...Gaither is still inexperienced...and Terry is not the answer...Yanda played well but Guard may be his best position...for the record I would be fine with McKelvin in round 1 as well

Dream scenario:Trade with Phi for Sheppard and 19th pick. Take the best OL available at 19 and Henne or Flacco in the 2nd rd.

No. It doesn't address the CB position which is the highest need position on the team.

Please, please consider taking a big guy up front, Baltimore!

Trade our 8 spot to Atlanta for their one spot next year and a second rounder this year. Hopefully we can get Tim Tebow next year..

I understand that Gaither is inexperience, but isn't Clady LESS experienced then him?? Pick 8 on a corner, or if one of the D-ends (Long, Gholston) drop. But if we get Clady in round one then we NEED a corner in round 2. I like Kevin Smith alot I really like Steve Slaton, and love the prospects of him backing up Willis, but Smith might be the better player. I think I would be satisfied w/ the rest of the draft

INTERESTING LISTENING TO PEOPLE'S WAY OUT THOUGHTS ON ALL THIS. MY THOUGHTS ON YOUR READERS BLOG'S NOT YOURS KEN:
1. TRADING DOWN DEPENDS ON WHOS ON THE RAVENS BOARD AT THE TOP AND WH'S AVAILABLE AT #8 AND WHO WILL WANT TO TRADE. NO TRADE CAN BE MADE FURTHER DOWN THE BOARD THAN 5-7 SPOTS.
2. PEOPLE WHO COMMENT ABOUT CLADY ONLY NEED TO LOOK AT FILM OF BOTH HIM AND GAITHER WHEN GAITHER COULD PLAY AT MD. NO CONTEST THERE.
3. ONLY MCKELVIN EVEN A FIT IN RAVENS DEFENSE AND HE HAS BAD HANDS AND RAVENS LIKE CORNERS TO BE ABLE TO CATCH INTS AND BRING THEM BACK, HE DOESN'T.
4.WHY WOULD ATLANTA TRADE AWAY THEIR #1 NEXT YEAR WHEN THEY ARE TRYING TO REBUILD AND ARE PILING UP DRAFT PICKS NOW ? OZZIE WILL NEVER TRADE AWAY ANOTHER #1 AND NOT GET A #1 BACK.
5. SHEPARD IS A OFTEN INJURED NON TEAM PLAYER AND EAGLES WANT A#1 WHY WOULD THEY GIVE UP A #1 AND A PLAYER ?
OF COURSE NONE OF THIS MATTERS IF RYAN IS THERE,IF NOT RAVENS WILL HAVE PLENTY OF OPTIONS. AND IN LATER ROUNDS PLENTY OF FAST DBS THAT MADE BE AS GOOD AS THESE AT THE TOP FOR A LOT LESS MONEY.
If Matt Ryan is gone by "8"; then I totally agree Clady is the man. Our O line is still deficient and no QB will be able to survive a season the way it is structured now.

I agree with drafting Flacco, Henne and then Brohm, but the Ravens can't sit on the 38th pick hoping it will turn out that way. They will have to move up in the second, or maybe the bottom of the first round to do it.

There are plenty of DBs this year so the real needs are QB, DE and OT. Let's hope for the best.
