Ed is an avid sports fan with a past that includes writing a weekly sports column in the 80s for the Prince Georges County Post-Sentinel (covered Maryland, the Bullets, the Caps, the NFL, the Kemper Open, and the Baltimore Stars) and working as a team statistician for the Washington Capitals from 1987-97. Despite growing up close to D.C. in Laurel, Ed has always been a Baltimore sports fan. His first favorite Oriole was Don Buford and he was a huge Colts/Bert Jones fan when the team was in Baltimore. The Ravens are his NFL team now. His primary sports passions are hockey and golf. He will focus most of his attention on Hockey in this blog covering the Caps and the rest of the NHL year round.
