"Wait until 2010!" appears to be the rallying cry for both the Ravens and Orioles.   But which team is really closer to being a playoff contender?

For years, the Ravens have been the dominant team in this city while the O's have been viewed as a bad joke by most fans.

Things have changed folks.

I'm going to go point by point and show why it's the Orioles that offer the best chance for post ...

And YOUR question is?
Blogs Drew Forrester's Blog, sponsored by Koons Ford Security Blvd By Drew Forrester on 8/20/2008 6:08 AM

It's Wednesday.

A lot is going on today.

The O's are on the verge of getting swept at Fenway Park at Camden Yards.

The Ravens have no idea who their quarterback is going to be and the season starts in about three weeks.

So feel free to ask me anything that's on your mind.  Just don't ask me whether or not I think the Redskins are going to make the playoffs.  I pray to the football gods ever ...

Here's a(nother) stupid question...
Blogs Nestor Aparicio's Blog By Nestor Aparicio on 8/19/2008 3:13 PM

The Orioles are celebrating their 50th million fan tonight. I just passed Oriole Park and if ANY of the first 3,500 fans entering the ballpark are Orioles fans, I didn't see them.

The city is an overwhelming sea of Red today. It's honestly the worst I've ever seen it.

The restaurants are hopping.

The Duck Boats are doing holiday business.

The bars are swelled with Red shirts and big tips and drunk people wit ...

Ravens notes from 8-19-08
Blogs Casey Willett's Blog By Casey Willett on 8/19/2008 2:20 PM
So the continuing saga that is the Ed Reed injury continues, now that head coach John Harbaugh says he will not say it is definite that Ed Reed will start the season. That is a change from when just over a week earlier he said that he had no reasons to think that Ed would not be ready for the season. I said it two weeks ago and will say it now; this situation is far from over with.

Alright. The e-mails have been pouring in and the phone calls have been steady.

Okay, in my business, both of those are REALLY good.

However, for some reason, most of you are of the opinion that Troy Smith is intriguing enough to be given the starting quarterback job.

Nevermind the fact that he hasn't shown us anything, so far, let's give the guy a chance. It can't be any worst than Kyle Boller.

Yes it ...

Ravens are in the "no fret" zone...
Blogs Drew Forrester's Blog, sponsored by Koons Ford Security Blvd By Drew Forrester on 8/19/2008 9:25 AM
I'll give the Ravens credit.  If they are concerned about the team's lackluster pre-season play to date, they're certainly not showing it.

Friedgen Chooses Steffy to Lead Maryland as Disgruntled Terps' Fans Question Decision
Blogs Matt Berger's Blog By Matt Berger on 8/18/2008 10:56 PM
Around 11:30 this afternoon, Ralph Friedgen announced in a press conference that redshirt senior Jordan Steffy would be the Terps’ starting quarterback, ending a 3-way competition with fellow quarterbacks Chris Turner and Josh Portis, both redshirt juniors.

Terrapin Nation made an announcement shortly after with cr ...

We are Michael Phelps
Blogs Glenn Clark's Blog, Brought to you by Miller Chill By Glenn Clark on 8/18/2008 10:18 PM
Why did 5 times as many of us watch Phelps Sunday night than watch the Ravens? It might be because we feel a special sort of kinship that goes way beyond sport.
