What more could I ask for? I work for the best sports radio station in town and I have the opportunity to share my thoughts and experience with sports and the local teams with listeners every single morning. I grew up on Baltimore sports. I went to about 300 baseball games at 33rd St. and saw at least 30 NFL games at Memorial Stadium. And, yes, I was there when Toni Linhart kicked the fog-game field goal against Miami! I went to the Civic Center for Clippers games back in the old days. All I ever cared about as a kid was Baltimore sports. This is my blog...read it! Please visit my blog sponsor, Koons Ford at www.koonsfordbaltimore.com!

O's have become GREAT listeners...
By Drew Forrester on 8/26/2008 2:46 PM
Note: I realize this is back-to-back blogs and that I owe a $5.00 contribution to the WNST "blog hog" fund, but this latest development with the Orioles just can't go unnoticed.

The O's today announced they will honor the Ravens and their 2008 season by making them an integral part of the team's September 6 home game against the Oakland A's.

My, my. They might still be in last place, but at least the Orioles are starting to listen better.&l ...

Boller: Labrum tear?
By Drew Forrester on 8/26/2008 1:51 PM
My purple notebook is filled after a Tuesday visit to Owings Mills to check in with the Ravens.

1. Kyle Boller's season is now in jeopardy due to a shoulder injury that was described to me by a team source as "a potentially serious labrum issue..." That sounds to me to be code word for "labrum tear", but a doctor I'm not. Still, the MRI exam Boller is going to be undergoing shortly should tell the Ravens everything they need to know.

You've heard of 4 corners?
By Drew Forrester on 8/25/2008 4:55 PM
I usually reserve Monday for "19 points to ponder", but I'm introducing a new blog topic today that will appear at various points...

It's called "Four Corners". I don't know why, except that I have four topics and I'm going to present them to you in a nice, neat package. Sort of like a box...with Four Corners. (Don't ask me...the creative people are off today and I had to come up with this stuff myself.)

Here you go, then:

The "Q-Q" continues
By Drew Forrester on 8/24/2008 7:18 PM
Aided by a mysterious flu bug that somehow sidelined Troy Smith on what was to be the biggest night of his young NFL career, the Raven's Quarterback Quandry is at stage 5 confusion level right now.

How, honestly, can you give Troy Smith the starting gig after he bailed out of the start on Saturday in St. Louis? You've seen virtually nothing from him in the three pre-season games to date. And on the night he was supposed to cement the job, he comes down with some kind of ...

If only Ozzie could fix ankle sprains...
By Drew Forrester on 8/22/2008 5:37 AM
Could Ozzie Newsome be one more non-winning season away from clearing out his desk at 1 Winning Drive?

Some of you think so. A number of callers and/or e-mailers over the last month or so have opined that Newsome's tenure here is on shaky ground.

I'm not hearing that from the Ravens, but I certainly see where people could come to that conclusion given the team's poor play in two of the last three years. At Owings Mills, staffers literally laugh whe ...
