There are some inescapable realities about this year's Ravens following today's debacle in Cleveland.

Five offensive touchdowns in four games just won't cut it.  Not in any league.

The Ravens are currently 0-2 in the AFC North.  Looks like I was wrong about my preseason prediction of 5-1 in the division.

The defense sorely misses Trevor Pryce and Samari Rolle.  Teams are looking Corey Ivy's way freque ...

Thoughts at the Half from my couch...
Blogs Mark Suchy's Blog By Mark Suchy on 9/30/2007 1:44 PM

I said this morning on the Sunday Morning Blitz with Rex that I felt a blowout was in the works today in Cleveland.  I just picked the wrong team getting blown out....

I strongly believe Boller should play the 2nd half....McNair's NOT healthy...

Sunday Morning Thoughts
Blogs Casey's Blog sponsored by, BaltimoreGolfing.com By Casey Willett on 9/30/2007 9:50 AM
-The LSU Tigers scared me yesterday with their game versus Tulane. I can honestly say that I never would have dreamed that Tulane would have been beating LSU. In the end they were able to pull out the win 34-9. Next week they have Florida which should be a great game.

-Great win by the Terps yesterday. To be able t ...

Tackling Jamal Lewis ....
Blogs Rex Snider's Blog By Rex Snider on 9/30/2007 5:56 AM
It’s GAMEDAY …. and we’ve got a lot of material to cover during the “Sunday Morning Blitz.” We’ll talk Ravens/Browns, NFL matchups, Fantasy Football …. and more. But, we’ll also deal with Jamal Lewis …. on a personal level.

Yesterday, in an article featured in Cleveland’s “News-Journal,” Jamal went on record regarding his departure from the Ravens. The article covered Jamal’s feelings about the team, their approach to the game, and his outlook in Cleveland.

Great Win For Maryland
Blogs Bob Haynie's Blog, sponsored by Bud Light By Bob Haynie on 9/29/2007 7:46 PM

I have watched many a Maryland football games over the years. I have seen some great moments and a lot of bad ones. Like last Saturday’s loss to Wake Forest, for instance. But today was a one of the best wins I have had the pleasure of witnessing. If you missed it, Maryland went up to New Jersey to take on 10th ranked Rutgers and came away with an emotional 34-24 victory over the previously undefeated Scarlet Knights.

It look ...

Hey, Rock .... Is That You?
Blogs Rex Snider's Blog By Rex Snider on 9/29/2007 5:00 AM
Your attention, please …. if someone sees the REAL “Rock,” will you let me know? Or, is this the real, NATURAL version we see before our very eyes in Disney’s “The Gameplan?”

I had to look twice …. I thought it was the same guy who played Gilligan – with a slightly buffer physique. This is unbelievable …. it can’t be the very figure that roamed arenas throughout the U.S., while admonishing the trailer-park faithful to “know their roles.”

What happe ...

It's Never Too Late ( or early ) To Blog.
Blogs Bob Haynie's Blog, sponsored by Bud Light By Bob Haynie on 9/29/2007 1:25 AM

I don’t know about you, but I am super-pumped for this sports weekend. We have Maryland going up to Rutgers to take on the Scarlet Knights. We have what should be a great middleweight championship fight between Kelly Pavlik and titleholder Jermain Taylor. Then , on Sunday, the Ravens travel to Cleveland to battle Jamal Lewis and the Browns.

But first, some random thoughts on a Friday night, Saturday morning.

I would be willing to guaran ...

Baseball pennant watching on Friday night...
Blogs Nestor Aparicio's Blog By Nestor Aparicio on 9/28/2007 8:27 PM
So, the name "Cecil Cooper" flashed on the bottom of my hi-def ESPN screen, as I'm watching the 4th inning of the Padres-Brewers game  tonight.

I've been doing Red Sox-Twins, Orioles-Yankees all night, but an HD ballgame involving my Aunt Jane's Padres caught my fancy about 20 minutes ago. (I'm gonna throw on my Padres old-school, mustard and puke brown lid to combat what the Brewers have done tonight!)

Today, Cecil ...

Help me clarify Tejada's stance...
Blogs Nestor Aparicio's Blog By Nestor Aparicio on 9/28/2007 6:40 PM
So it's Friday night, and I'm surfing baseball games, eating tacos, the usual drill...

Ray Bachman just called and swears that Miguel Tejada was on the MASN "Oriole Pre-Game" show and told Gary Thorne that he wouldn't consider playing third base and that's he's "not a DH." He said he's a SHORTSTOP and made it very clear.

He says the "T" word might've even been uttered...
