OUR HISTORY
WNST began as a dream come true for local sports talk show personality "Nasty" Nestor Aparicio.
He began his radio career on December 13, 1991, when he was asked by Kenny Albert to co-host a show on WITH-AM 1230.
WNST LAUNCHES ON AUGUST 3RD 1998
As Baltimore's very first all-sports radio station, WNST - "The Station With Balls", launches in August of 1998.
On October 1, 1999, Aparicio loses his lease. After 14 months on the air, he is evicted for almost a year.
But on September 10, 2000, Aparicio and a group of local partners purchase WNST-AM 1570 outright and have been in control ever since.
The on-air staff of WNST are all true Baltimoreans, giving a perspective that none of the other local media outlets can possible have: memories of the old Orioles, the Colts, 33rd Street - not to mention the innate passion for Baltimore and for Maryland that only true fans can have.
STILL GOING STRONG
As a result, WNST has nearly 10 years of building loyalty with local sports fans. With the largest sports staff in Baltimore, WNST has created a resource that is second to none for the Baltimore sports enthusiast.
